Congratulations to the newly elected 2012 Board Members
Congratulations to Emily Elmore, Claudia Eberspacher, Christa Lund, and Allie Gunter for being voted in by our member/owners as returning and newly appointed board members. Brian Majewski has been appointed by the board to replace Emily Thorns position. He will be completing her final year within her two year term. Thank you for your interest in supporting the Food Coop and please keep your eye on us as we move forward with our expansion plans.
Our board of director's is an extremely motivated group of volunteers, elected from the general membership at our annual member meeting. They guide the long term vision of the Coop and the store's General Manager reports directly to them on the store's day to days.

Being cooperatively owned we have a Board of Directors, elected by member-owners, to help guide the long term vision of the Coop, support the mission of the organization and provide guidance to our General Manager who directly works with the staff daily to run the store. The Board of Directors also creates and maintains the by-laws which govern the Coop. Download a copy of our by-laws [here].
Our Current Board of Directors
Emily Elmore
Emily is from Berthoud, Colorado. She loves shopping at the Coop, and facilitating the board meetings. As president of the board Emily also chairs the Outreach Committee and is a part of the Governance Committee. Outside the Coop and her duties here she sells homes and land, spends time outdoors, loves cooking with friends, enjoying good wine, riding her bike and trying to see the world when possible! When asked what her favorite thing in the whole wide world is she answered, "love!". You can find her stocking up on local Haystack Mountain Goat Cheese, and SidWiggie's Ice Cream at the Coop. She also loves the co-operative model, and wants to look into Co-op housing around the Fort.
Claudia Eberspacher
I have enjoyed getting to know the Food Coop staff and Board Members over the past year, serving as an interim Board Member. The entire team has made great strides over the past few years, making the Food Coop the best it’s ever been. I find it inspiring and hope to contribute to the progress.
Elliot Cooper
As a community member in Ft. Collins, I strive to incorporate sustainable living into my daily life. I bring not only a strong knowledge of the sustainable living community in Northern Colorado, but a seasoned business background to the board. I strive to help solidify financial sustainability for the Co-op, as well as serving the social and environmental responsibility of our community through improving the efficiency and due diligence of the board.
Megan Schiel
As a genuine believer of Cooperative principles, I know how vital the Coop is to our community. After being on the Board of Directors for three years, going through major Board training and development, and working with our policies and membership structure, I feel that I can offer essential experience to the Fort Collins Food Coop while we pursue the big goals we have planned for our future.
Susan Hazel Rich
With a background in Graphic Design & Marketing, and a demonstrated commitment to the health and growth of the Coop, beginning with my leadership of the rebranding process three years ago, through a more recent position with the Coop providing day to day marketing and creative services, I believe both my personal experience and ongoing connection to the Coop make me an ideal candidate for the Board of Directors. My experience working in the store and understanding of the day to day processes gives me an important perspective to bring to the board as we guide the long-term vision and strategic planning of the coop. I am committed to researching fully both the potential benefits and obstacles of all decisions while staying true to the values that have existed in the Coop' s history and should continue to exist moving forward.
Katie Slota
Katie was born and raised in Madison, WI but has been living in Fort Fun off and on for almost 9 years. She is a newly appointed board member who is very excited about helping to make the FCFC a hub for local food and community cultivation. Outside the coop, she keeps busy working on her farm and selling produce to local restaurants and at local farmers markets. If there is any time left, one may also find riding her bicycle, tickling chickens, or enjoying a beverage with her friends on the O'dell's patio. Food she loves from the COOP? Windsor dairy cheese (can take the girl out of the dairyland, but can't take the dairyland out the girl) and bulk peanut butter (well, anything bulk really).
Christa Lund
Newly elected. Christa states that, "I feel I have the good fortune of being a student of Holistic Nutrition and Herbal Medicine with the goal of helping people achieve better health and eliminate some of the pain and suffering from chronic conditions. I feel very connected to the Fort Collins community having contributed to some of the organizations that I consider cornerstones of the town. My passion is for food, both growing and eating fresh, organic, nutritive food grown responsibly and preferably by someone I can call my neighbor." She is happy to sit on the board of the Food Coop to help strengthen the organization that supports its local community with such genuine love. Welcome to the team Christa!
Allie Gunter
Newly elected. Allie is a PhD student in Agricultural Economics at CSU. Her research has been focused on local food topics and most recently, she has been looking at the financial feasibility of local food distribution in Northern Colorado. Allie says, "I am very passionate about the local food movement and I like to utilize an analytical framework when addressing a problem, always looking for viable solutions." Welcome to the team Allie!
Brian A. Majeski
Newly appointed. I am excited to be a part of such an vital aspect of the Fort Collins’ community and to see the Food Co-op prosper, becoming an example for other towns of an integrated, dynamic hub for healthy food, local collaboration. As I had mentioned during my introduction at the recent member meeting, I foresee a strong involvement of architecture as it relates to food production. I yearn to learn more about the complex food industry, from farm to plate, to one day apply this knowledge and experience to sustainable, regenerative community development.
