Solidarity, Not Charity!

Mountain Avenue Market’s Cause of the Quarter is a way to raise awareness and monetary resources for social justice movements, grassroot organizations, and independent projects. Each quarter, we select a cause and collect donations via donation boxes next to our registers. Throughout the quarter, we spread the word to our member-owners and customers on the cause we’ve collectively chosen to raise money for.

We believe in supporting causes that promote a model of SOLIDARITY over a model of charity. We prioritize causes led by BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color), LGBTQIA+ communities, and support movements that are initiated and led by those most affected by the issue(s) at hand.
