Well folks, we’re a little more than half-way through our epic renovation! We’re so thankful for our community and all the words of encouragement we’ve been hearing from those who’ve stopped by or are following us on social media. We definitely couldn’t do this (and wouldn’t be doing this) without you!
Our staff has been kicking butt and taking names all with smiles and laughs. We also feel so fortunate to have the team we have at this juncture in the Co-op’s history.
We started out on Saturday and Sunday with an awesome crew of employees and community volunteers and TORE DOWN THE WALL of product, shelving, and registers. After some serious cleaning we had an empty floor in the front of our store!
A huge thank you to everyone who helped out with an undesirable job!
Monday was spent deconstructing our front windows and installing new, more efficient, windows and getting rid of our old equipment! A few of you have asked what we did with it: Founder of Vindeket Foods, Nathan Shaw, purchased our equipment and picked it up!
Tuesday our new equipment arrived, we did some more cleaning, picked out new paint colors, and continued work on the bathrooms! There’s been a lot of decision making as things progress, but we’ve all been able to work together to find the best solutions.
Wednesday a few of the staff CLEANED OUT THE BASEMENT! Knowing that most of you haven’t had the pleasure of touring our creepy basement, let me tell you, it was a chore. We filled most of the dumpster we rented with things that were stored down there that we “might need again someday.” Our basement has a room that is underneath the bike rack in the back of our building that is not weather proof, and it was FULL of stuff that was now rusted or ruined. It felt good to cleanse the space and we’re excited to be able to use it again!
Thursday is mostly our construction crews running refrigerant lines, installing our new double door, finishing work on the bathrooms and figuring out the electrical set up for our new equipment! Exciting that we’re getting closer to being able to come back in and reset the space!
Again, we’d like to thank you for your support and patience while we update and beautify your store! We’re so excited to be able to show it to you. Stay tuned for more updates and fora re-opening date!
Cheers!

Wow! You have accomplished a lot!
We miss coming to the Coop and seeing you guys. We look forward to returning when the renovation is complete.

Looking forward to seeing all that has been done. It’s a pleasure to have a small grocery store nearby with local products and willing employees to help you.
